Recently during a debate, Mayor Jim Gray accused Senator Rand Paul of having “wild ass philosophies.” Apparently fiscal sanity, limited government, and not arming terrorists are wild in Jim Gray’s world. So let’s ask ourselves this, are Gray’s stances any less “wild”? Let’s take a look…
Increased Minimum Wage
According to Gray’s website:
I believe that a job is a tool to improve your life and your family through your own hard work. For that to be real, we must pay workers a fair wage. Unfortunately, too many Americans today are stuck in jobs where no matter how hard they work, they won’t be able to make ends meet. As your United States Senator, I’ll support increasing the federal minimum wage to $12 an hour, and eliminate sub-minimum wage pay for tipped workers. As part of this proposal, I support common sense tax support for our nation’s small businesses, so that our mom and pop stores have the help they need to pay workers a fair wage.
He Thinks the Wage Gap is Real
Women should be paid equally. And I will support legislation to ensure it. In Kentucky, the average woman makes $8,499 less every year than her male counterpart. That adds up to a $339,960 in lost earnings over the course of a 40-year career. For an African American woman, the gap is $14,284 per year, or $571,360 over the course of a 40-year career.
This is laughable beyond degree. The wage gap between men and women has been proven to be false repeatedly.
Preserve the Social Security Ponzi Scheme
Jim supports measures to ensure long-term stability, raising the revenue cap is one option. And Jim will fight any measure to cut or privatize Social Security. He believes in keeping our promises to our nation’s seniors by paying what we owe and preserving these programs for our children and grandchildren.
Let’s not forget this great jewel…
Jim Gray supports Mass Surveillance and the Patriot Act
Rand Paul is best known for grandstanding. What many may not know is that Paul opposed the Patriot Act and the USA FREEDOM Act, and in his stand against the Patriot Act, he hurt our country’s ability to find and stop terrorists. That’s unacceptable.
So the moral of the story is that not only does Jim Gray believe in myths and scams, but he believes the Patriot Act too was on the right side of history.
