We have an exclusive statement from former College Republican Federation of Virginia Secretary (2016-2017) and Liberty University College Republicans Chair (2015-2017) Jonah Athey officially endorsing Delegate Nick Freitas for the Republican nomination for US Senate in 2018. In an e-mail to the Remso Republic, Athey stated:
“I firmly believe Nick Freitas can bring together the Republican Party while reaching out to independents and disenfranchised voters who need to hear the message of economic opportunity, personal liberty, and a prosperous future. I endorse Nick Freitas and hope other College Republicans can bring their youthful energy to his campaign.”
While attending Liberty University, Athey interned for the former Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli’s Governor campaign along with both Ed Gillespie US Senate and Governor runs.
This endorsement comes almost a week after Liberty University President Jerry Falwell Jr. endorsed Corey Stewart’s candidacy.
Editor’s note: This endorsement does not reflect that of the CRFV, the LU CR chapter, or Liberty University.
