A few days ago Judge Roy Moore was predicted to win, and then Corey Stewart went down to Alabama and now a Democrat has won the seat. Obviously it is funny to be sarcastic and say Corey is bad luck but let’s take a quick examination of what occured.
The populist wing of the Republican Party thought this was going to be a cake walk, while the Establishment tried to pull out their old dirty tricks and everyone in turn played hardball.
The Establishment declared war on conservatives and because of that, good or bad, they went all in on Roy Moore.
The populists thought they could justify every little thing that came their way, and because of that they fed into every negative stereotype the mainstream media slapped on them.
What did Corey decide to do? He decided to play populist folk hero and drive down to stand with Moore, and maybe I’m a little exaggerative, but this dude just seems like bad luck. Everything Corey touches seems to turn to crap, maybe that is why everyone from the Trump campaign has turned on him here in Virginia.
I hope Virginia conservatives don’t think they can play the single issue rage game in 2018. We can’t afford another term with Tim Kaine.
